LA CROCIONA HOLIDAY FARM - Montalcino

Our holiday farm has been awarded a rating of three "grains" for the completeness of the facilities it offers, all of the finishing touches and the setting, which we are very proud of.
Located 2.8km from Montalcino, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and its own wood, it has seven apartments with private covered parking, partially covered terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, umbrellas, shaded garden, private pool, token-operated hot tub for six people, a shop of typical products and conference hall.

VILLA DEL FATTORE
Monte Amiata Scalo, Montalcino

The small town of Monte Amiata Scalo, situated within the Comune di Montalcino area, near the river Orcia, rose in post-unification Italy around 1870, following the advent of the Siena-Grosseto railway line.
Here one can still breathe the air and experience the atmosphere of the late 19th century, a time when new and often unknown horizons were opening up.
In this new world, characterized by the opening of more distant and important markets, by smiling young newly weds that would go off by train on short honey moon adventures, and by workmen who could finally travel around to find seasonal work in other areas, new modern functions came into existence, such as the inn, the hostel, the timber yard and merchant warehouses. These added to the pre-exhisting civic amenities of medieval heritage, such as the community oven, the public lavatories, the loom etc.
The "Villa del Fattore" is named after its owner of the time Silvio Benocci, who was the "Fattore" or farm manager of the area par excellence and great grand father of the now owner - the Enotechnician Roberto Nannettti. It still perfectly conserves the original characteristics of the building which was designed both as a private home for the Benocci Nannetti family, and also as a restaurant, an inn and general emporium.
This Villa is the only private institution that survived the advent of mass motorization that took away importance from the railway line which is now only used on holidays for the beautiful excursions of the "Treno Natura".
The building that was fully refurbished and restored in 2002 retains its characteristics as a discrete and comfortable spacious residence equipped with all modern comforts. Relaxation is guaranteed by the enviable tranquility of this area.
